Grief Support After the Loss Of a Child, Sibling or Grandchild

The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families in the positive resolution of grief following the loss of a child, sibling or grandchild and to provide information to help others be supportive.

The Compassionate Friends-Honolulu Chapter is a part of a national nonprofit, self-help support organization which offers friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the loss of a child or sibling of any age, from any cause. There is no religious affiliation. There are no membership fees or dues, and all bereaved family members are welcome.

The secret of TCF's success is simple: As seasoned grievers reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow outward and both are helped to heal. The vision of the Compassionate Friends is that everyone who needs us will find us and everyone who finds us will be helped.

Honolulu Chapter Saturday Monthly Meetings (Hybrid - In person and Virtually via Zoom)

Date: 1st Saturday of every month.
Time: 10:00 a.m-11:30 a.m.
Place: Parish of St Clement, 1515 Wilder Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96822.

As you come off the H-1 freeway going toward Diamond Head (heading east) take the Punahou cut off. Turn left onto Punahou. Head mauka to the second stop light, turn left onto Wilder Avenue. Head west about a block and the Parish will be on the left. Pass the Parish and turn left onto Makiki Street at the stop light. Enter the Parish parking lot from Makiki Street. Coming from the H-1 heading west (from Diamond head), take the Wilder Avenue cut off. About 3/4 of a mile, the Parish should be on the corner on the left. Turn left onto Makiki Street at the stop light. Enter the Parish parking lot from Makiki Street. Click on this link for the map of the Parish. This meeting is also virtual via Zoom. The link to the meeting will be in Clara's reminder email.

You may come late, leave early. You are not required to talk. Just listening is OK. It takes courage to come to the first meeting-bring a friend or relative to lean on if you wish. You will find that it's all right to laugh or cry, to share exactly how you feel, or to say nothing at all. The Honolulu Chapter has been holding meetings for over 25 years. You are not alone.
